I started coaching to help athletes overcome difficult challenges before they happen.
Throughout my career, I have been the star player on my team, a benchwarmer, injured for a year with a torn ACL, and everything in between. Even though I played on a Division I college team, I didn’t play for a fancy club team or academy in my youth, I wasn’t a top recruit, and I didn’t have the best work ethic off the field until later in my career. Many athletes lose love for the game once things get difficult, and at times I did. However, I wouldn’t trade my experience for anything.
I learned many valuable lessons throughout my soccer career. If I would have been more prepared leading up to that point, I believe I could have handled many of those challenges better. That is why I fell in love with coaching, to pass down what I learned from my experience to the next generations to come, in order to help them achieve their own unique goals, and be better prepared for the challenges to come.
